I have been working on several toning shoes projects. Toning shoes are shoes that have some sort of instability built into them such as a rocker sole. The aim of this is to change the posture slightly and also make the muscles work harder for a tone up. There is quite a disparity between what the manufacturers claim and what the research says actually happens. This has resulted in a bit of legal action for some of the companies (more & busted)! Despite that I do wear my MBT’s a couple of days a week to mix it up.
I have been working on the Toning Shoes Today site; put together a video on toning shoes for the Podiatry Soapbox site; and last, but not least I have been working on the toning shoes entry on the PodoPaedia site. (I even responded to a questions about them on Yahoo! Answers and Podiatry Experts. I also contributed to a press release and wrote an article for Ezinearticles and bloged about them here.
It has been a real immersion in the whole concept of toning shoes, the claims and the research behind them. Maybe a book is next?
